Huey P. Newton was a revolutionary African-American political activist who co-founded the Black Panther Party in 1966. The Black Panther Party was a revolutionary political organization headquartered in Oakland, California. The party was active in the United States from 1966 until 1982, with chapters in numerous major cities, and international chapters operating in the United Kingdom in the early 1970s and in Algeria from 1969 until 1972.
